What ATE Insurance Covers

Our policies protect the insured and/or funder against liability to pay the costs of a successful opponent in litigation or arbitration conducted in the United Kingdom, including costs from Court applications made during the claim with our prior consent.

Policies can also cover the claimant's own expenses, such as experts' fees, Court fees and counsels' fees, with risks insured from £100k up to £2M, and up to £5M with insurers' agreement.

A non-refundable deposit premium is required, with the remainder typically deferred and adjusted in steps as the case progresses, payable contingent on the outcome or by instalments to keep premiums competitive.
